Vegruit
Vegruit is my word for vegetables and fruit — because apparently I decided they deserved their own category.
I love the colour, shape and sheer personality of things that grow: pumpkins, figs, lemons, tomatoes, apples and all the wonderfully imperfect things that turn up in the garden or on the kitchen bench.
These paintings began with my fascination with their rich colour and sculptural forms, but, as usual, I couldn't resist pushing things a little further.
Vegruit is my slightly quirky celebration of the everyday abundance of the garden, where vegetables and fruit become colour, pattern and art.
